Leslie W. Slaugh
Leslie Slaugh is a partner of Howard, Lewis & Petersen. His practice is focused in the areas of commercial law, real estate, governmental law, contracts and appellate advocacy. Mr. Slaugh has significant appellate experience, having written over 100 briefs and handled appeals in cases involving a wide range of topics in both state and federal courts.
A Logan, Utah native, Leslie received a B.A. in economics from Brigham Young University in 1979, and a Juris Doctor, with honors, from the Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark College of Law in 1982. He is admitted to the state and federal courts in Utah, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Leslie is also actively involved in serving the community. He has served on the board of the Family Support and Treatment Center, a non-profit agency devoted to prevention and treatment of child abuse, since 1988. He is a member and past president of the Central Utah Bar, a member of the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules of Civil Procedure, a member of the Supreme Court Committee on New lawyer Training, and a bar examiner for the Utah State Bar. He also regularly volunteers his time as a small claims court judge in Utah County.
